Joints: Candle Crayon

Inspired by my research, I want to combine the candle with crayons so that people can reduce the waste of materials.

I used melted candle wax to fill up the straw and put a line of yarn inside. Although it can't be used to draw, it did present the art of joints and the possibility of combining two different products.

After rethinking it for a long time, I came up with the idea that I should use melted crayons, fill them in the container, and then add the thread. In this way, two different products are still jointing, but the compound of crayon wax can be successfully used in drawing.

Joints: Wood

Based on my research, I learned that wood could be the most diverse material for joints because It has more than ten ways to join with other pieces. I used the butt joints technique to tighten five pieces of wood together with screws and successfully built a bench. Moreover, I added a layer of bubble wrap to create a cushion that makes the rough surface more comfortable.

This task let me realize how fun it is to use a screwdriver; with it and screws, everything can be tightened and jointed.

Joints: Egg Tray, Straw and Clay

I wanted to create some relaxation product that reminds people of the importance of being environmental friendly. I came up with the idea of building a chair that exhibited inside the interior space, showcasing the actual tree and built up with recycled material.

These joint projects can be reshaped, adding more leaves, and the tree trunk can be replaced with another breed of trees or flowers. It is a very playful product that can be modified with mood. It will be very creative furniture inside one's house.
